How my family got large amounts of gold bullion

My family owns large amounts of gold bullion. We keep it in a bank vault, but some small amounts can also be found at home. How did we get this gold? Well, one of our ancestors worked in a gold mine in New Zealand. It was back in the 19th century and gold mining was really hard work then. It was also extremely dangerous and dangerous accidents happened every day. People didnt get money for their work. Instead, they were given gold bullion. Our great-great-grandfather lived a very frugal life and didnt sell much of his gold. Instead, he kept it in a hiding place near his little house. A couple of years later, he and his family decided to leave New Zealand. He travelled with most of the gold in his bag, and his family also kept some bullion hidden in blankets and clothes. Travelling was very dangerous then, and they often had to take turns to be on guard at night. Even children were responsible for the familys treasure. They were forbidden to talk about it or even mention to anyone that their father had worked in a gold mine. The family eventually reached their destination, which was Europe, two years later. They bought a house in Germany, and today we still live in this house. Were going to keep the gold bullion and sell it only in case of emergency.
